StepLock Access and GDPR

In the GDPR, two roles are defined: data controller (the legal entity that determines the purposes of processing personal data) and data processor (the legal entity whose task is to process personal data on behalf of the data controller). StepLock Access is the data controller in some cases and the data processor in others.

In the document below, we list the personal data that we believe you will handle when using our services. Please note that it is ultimately you as the end user who chooses what should actually be stored.

How StepLock Access uses cookies

Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer when you visit a website. Their function is partly to make sure that you, as a website visitor, have a good experience with access to all features, and partly that we can measure the traffic on our site.

We use both permanent and temporary cookies.

  • Permanent cookies are stored as a file on your computer for a longer period of time. They are used, for example, in functions that indicate what is new since you last visited the website and to collect statistics on how the website is used.
  • Session cookies are temporarily placed files on your computer. They are stored while you visit a website and disappear as soon as you close the page. They are used, for example, to keep track of the language you have chosen and to ensure that the pages load quickly on your computer.

We use the analytics tool Google Analytics to collect statistics and measure traffic on our site. This may include information about how the visitor has clicked on our site, which pages are visited and how long the visit lasts. We do not save any personal information about you as a visitor. Cookies cannot harm your files or increase the risk of viruses on your computer.

How to manage and remove cookies

If you do not want to allow cookies to be stored on your computer, you can set this in your browser’s help section. There you can also delete cookies that you have saved previously. However, keep in mind that some features on our site are dependent on cookies and may not work if you remove them.
